I am very pleased that one of my FABULOUS weddings is featured on the blog Style Me Pretty. Mary & Ian were married on Labor Day weekend at Camp Vega, a girls camp in Western Maine. Meagan Gilpatrick from Maine Seasons Events and Judy from Flora Fauna did a spectacular job with details and flowers, which is the largest factor in getting a feature. But to ME, the best part of this wedding is Mary & Ian. Let me talk about them. First of all, hands down, a great looking couple, which never hurts from a visual perspective. But Genuine LOVE. Ok when they were walking down the aisle from saying I do, Ian was holding onto her hand so tight, kissed her hand, kissed her face, kissed her face again, and repeated. That first image at the top, that is just one of a series of kisses that SEALED the deal. Seriously, isn't that what we all want, someone who is not only 100% confident in their love for us, but is happy to show it freely. The last image, cake, Mary is telling Ian, and you better not do that to me. That is Ian's brother laughing. Their was a slight delay in the cake cutting, but who cared. Look at that shot! LOVE! The shots here, I am sure did not make the Style Me Pretty Blog, because it is about people, and I love that blog, LOVE their ideas. I would hire Meagan and Judy to help visually define my wedding for certain. But my first love is for the people at the weddings I photograph. That brings joy to my heart.

girl with not a dragon tattoo
the girl with not a dragon tattoo
I know that movie is out, Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I most likely will not be watching it as I could not get past the first 20 pages, too horrific. BUT I like this image of my bride Lisa. It feels like it could be a book cover. Lisa owns Ember Grove in Portland, in case you need any great ideas for local holiday gifts!
I think her tattoo reminds me of dragon fly wings.

Caught a few moments with Lucia, Marteen and Lily one afternoon between photoshoots. I remember thinking, I wish I had spent the afternoon at El Rayo and the playground with these guys. Marteen was watching Lucia while I did shoots, and Lily dumped leaves onto curly hair. It was awesome. Now my dear friend Marteen and Lily have moved onto Pittsburg and we ( Lucia & I ) shall miss them very much.

Freeport Community Services Auction shoot donation
Battarbee Family
3 crazy girls, 2 working parents and a chill dog on a chilly November rainy day. This shoot has taken awhile to coordinate, as Rachel got the gift card from the Freeport Community Services annual White Nights Auction, a few years back. So we didn't care about the weather. It had to happen! These twins are totally entertaining. Not a dull moment on this shoot. :) I wonder which images will make it on the stairway wall, some of these blogged I hope!

The Redo
The redo shoot with the Albert boys. Little Breccan was in a MUCH better mood. My nephew Isaak had spent the weekend with us and he was on the job. I had asked him to help out with the lighting and maybe to make Breccan smile, since Lucia thinks Isaak is the funniest thing ever. Well in between shooting here and there, and perhaps Pam and I were to busy talking about who had a baby etc. the boys got into a snowball fight, and Isaak, being 2x their size, got the oldest, Caleb, with A SERIOUS fast icy snowball up close to the face. OUCH! Yay. Caleb went home looking like he played hockey with the Portland Pirates. Which he told his mom thought made him look tough so it was ok later. Isaak felt so bad he hung his head and went into the house. Awe. Boy drama. But we got the shots none the less!
Thanks for the Edna & Lucy Donuts Pam :)

Winslow Park Photo Shoot
Berg Family
The Berg family photo shoot at Winslow Park, with the little new head of the family, Miss Sarah. Littl Miss Sarah was MUCH happier when she got her red mittens on, which I love in pictures, as much as I love her little blue coat, and little determined face. Erin had a gift card from a YMCA auction from 2 years ago. But I do not let Gift cards expire, because, sometimes good things, take time to make happen.
Happy Thanksgiving!
