Underwater Portraits

Sunday afternoons you could find us at the pool with Lucia's friend Olivia who is an acrobatic swimmer. Here I am using my underwater housing for my fuji s5 to get these shots. My daughter, Lucia, doesn't dare to go underwater yet, so Olivia is the subject this day. I love the view point from the lens underwater. It reminds me of the many times I would open my eyes underwater as a child. I use to love to look up and watch for the sunlight coming through the water.

Snowbunny Zumbathon 2012

We had so much fun at the Snowbunny Zumbathon last night! Yes it was cold, but it didn't matter! 2 hours of dancing keeps you warm. And those little ghost like things in images, is just the steam from our breath! An awesome fundraiser for the Casco Bay YMCA. My friend, and Zumba instructor , Kelly Newell is planning a summer Zumbathon in the airnasium. Instead of a snowbunny theme, it will be a beach theme... bikini? oh boy

Zumbathon for the Casco Bay YMCA

The scholarship program at the YMCA helps families cover membership costs that may not be able to afford it. The Casco Bay YMCA is one of the best parts of the Freeport community, and tonights Zumba-thon helps raise money for the scholarship program. I can't think of a better way to help our community tonight!

These are pictures from last years Zumbathon. People ask will I be able to participate if I take pictures. YES! I remote trigger one of cameras which is hooked up to strobes. And that is so much fun, because on the DOWNBEAT I can pop the flash and it just adds to the whole coolness of it all! :)
