Kristin & Kris were married at the Danforth Inn in Portland Maine last September, on a night colder than we have seen most of this October. But more than a crisp fall night, love was in the air; between the two love birds and amongst the families. It was a joy to be a part of this intimate celebration.

Friday I photographed Catherine for her Headgames employee shot. When she arrived she let me know as MOST people do: "I just want you to know" she said " I am not good at having my picture taken." I hear this ALOT. In fact if someone doesn't say it, it's kind of a red flag. But I think it's worthy of a discussion, so I ask her, what do you think it would take to be someone who takes a good picture? She says she hates all the pictures that her friends take of her to post on fb, that if she was a few years younger and grew up taking pictures of herself to post online all the time she would be better at it. I think this is funny, because yes young kids are all about self promotion. Not like me, back in the day shooting film and waiting a few weeks to get the roll of film back. She then told me she hates the fake smile, I agreed. So I told her, let's look at this as an experience to gain more information about how you photograph. I told her as much as I take pictures I still do this thing with my face when I get my picture taken, I have things to learn too. Me personally, think this new employee, photographs very well, and I knew she would when she arrived. LOVE the blue eye make-up. Who shows up with that adorable face, eye make, cute hair cut and not photograph well.... please ;)

On a lovely fall afternoon in September Erin & David were married at David's Uncles home in Harpswell Maine. The light was warming, as was the music and great great food! The gardens and view over looking the water made for a wonderful setting for Erin & David. The dress was from Saja Wedding, the florist was Emily Carter, caterers were Henry's Catering and the band was Three Button Deluxe.

What does the transformation of a bride look like on her wedding day? What if this bride happens to be an incredible hairstylist and make up artist? I am posting about my dear friend Kate, from Headgames. I photographed her wedding last month, and what she would look like went through my mind many times. And friends asked, "how did she look?" Our expectations of our stylist friend were high. And I was not disappointed. OF COURSE! Kate is as cute as a button no matter what. But with the talents of Mau, also from Headgames, it was KATE ENHANCED. The glorified version. The work of art version. The whole time photographing this time of the wedding day, I was lost myself in moments of, what would I do, if it was my wedding day. Kate has beautified me many times, thank goodness, but I have yet to have the elegant do a wedding lends itself so well too. Here is to being beautiful on the wedding day, and any day we find the time and reason to.
